How is queer.lu funded?

queer.lu believes in transparency. Here you can see who makes our magazine possible — and what that means for our editorial independence.

Ministry of State — Service des médias
State aid under the programme Aides en faveur du journalisme professionnel, Regime Éducation aux médias et à la citoyenneté, administered by the Service des médias, de la connectivité et de la politique numérique.

Ministère de l’Égalité des genres et de la Diversité
Support under a convention with the Ministère de l’Égalité des genres et de la Diversité, linked to the operation of the Rainbow Center by Rosa Lëtzebuerg.

Our funding has no influence on our editorial work. queer.lu reports independently, in the interest of the community. Additional sources of funding may be explored, provided they are compatible with our values.

queer.lu is a project by Rosa Lëtzebuerg queer.lu is a project by Rosa Lëtzebuerg asbl — founded in 1996 and for nearly 30 years the voice of the queer community in Luxembourg. As an association, Rosa Lëtzebuerg is active in six key areas:

  1. Defending and promoting the rights of LGBTIQ+ people and all those who are indirectly but personally affected — with the goal of full equal treatment.
  2. Combating all forms of discrimination against LGBTIQ+ people and those affected.
  3. Raising awareness and informing society, academia, politics and the media.
  4. Engagement in the areas of law, health, social life, education, culture and sport.
  5. Promoting reception, support, training and social-family counselling.
  6. Supporting scientific research on LGBTIQ+ topics.
