The Lilies are individuals who, for various reasons, come out only Later In Life. Coming out is seldom easy; for those coming out late, it brings its own set of challenges: informing children, deciding whether to divorce, managing the end of a marriage, dealing with financial impacts, and reshaping long-held perceptions of oneself at work and among family and friends. While each story is unique, there are enough commonalities to warrant the initiation of a support group, ensuring mutual confidentiality and accommodating individuals at different stages of their journey. With the Centre LGBTIQ+ CIGALE as a facilitator, the Lilies group was established. (Anonymous, initiator of the Lilies)
